Telangana 10 Bagless Days Implementation Guidelines 2026-27 - Schedule, Activities & Module PDF
The Director of School Education & State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Telangana has issued implementation guidelines for conducting 10 Bagless Days for Classes I to X during Academic Year 2026-27 vide Proc.Rc.No.933/C&T/SCERT/TG/2026, Date: 29-08-2026.
As per the proceedings, Bagless Days will be conducted on 3rd Saturday of every identified month to make learning joyful, experiential and stress-free as per NEP 2020 and School Bag Policy 2020.
Objectives of 10 Bagless Days Programme
- To reduce burden of school bag and make learning joyful
- To provide hands-on, activity based and experiential learning
- To expose students to world of work and pre-vocational skills
- To develop observation, creativity, teamwork and critical thinking
- To connect classroom learning with community and real-life
SCERT Module for Bagless Days
SCERT Telangana has developed a detailed module which includes learning outcomes, skills, career opportunities, activity process and assessment. Teachers must select activities based on age, class, local context and available resources.

Implementation Guidelines for AY 2026-27 (Annexure-I)
- Schedule: 10 Bagless Days on 3rd Saturday of identified months as per SCERT Academic Calendar 2026-27.
- Annual Work Plan: Each school shall prepare an Annual Work Plan in advance with Month, Name of Activity, Resources Required and Outcome.
- Low Cost Resources: Use locally available low-cost / no-cost material.
- Linkage with Subjects: Activities should be linked with Languages, Maths, Science, Social, Physical Education, Art and Work Experience.
- Safety: Safety and well-being of students must be ensured during outdoor visits.
- Documentation: Maintain brief reports, photos and assessment of activities.
- Community Participation: Invite parents, artisans, local experts, farmers, potters, carpenters as resource persons.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Headmaster / Principal: Coordinate planning, provide resources, monitor and ensure safety.
2. Teachers: Plan age-appropriate activities, encourage participation of all students including CwSN, assess observation, creativity and teamwork.
3. Parents & Community: Encourage children, provide support during village fairs, melas and provide material/manpower.
How Bagless Days will be Conducted?
For Classes 1 to 5: Two Levels - Level-I (Class 1 & 2) and Level-II (Class 3,4,5). Each day has 3 sessions:
- Show Time: For oral practice and confidence
- Fun Station: For collaborative skills - learning by doing
- Creative Circle: For motor skills and creativity
For Classes 6 to 10: Theme based activities like field visits, surveys, interviews, experiments, skits, role-play and historical visits.

Assessment & CwSN Care
Assessment will be internal and informal based on observation, questioning, language competency, teamwork and discipline. If special education teacher is available, he/she shall accompany CwSN children, otherwise parents may accompany.
Official Proceedings
All RJDSE and DEOs are instructed to communicate Annexure-I (Guidelines) and Annexure-II (Schedule) to MEOs, Complex HMs and HMs and monitor implementation.
